ORANGEBURG, S.C. - The South Carolina State women's basketball team will resume action on Wednesday (Nov. 28
th ) when they host USC Upstate in a 6 p.m. tipoff at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
SERIES: The Spartans and Bulldogs are meeting for the eighth time in program history with USC Upstate leading the all-time series 5-2.
LAST TIMEOUT: The Lady Bulldogs (2-4) look to bounce back after a tough 32-73 loss to University of Arizona in their last outing. Senior guard
Rhein Beamon led the way with eight points and four rebounds.
Ester Udonsi and
Kemoni Jenkins added seven each respectively in the loss.
Meanwhile, USC Upstate (2-4) continued its road trip last Saturday with an 82-63 victory over the N.C. Central Eagles. Michaela Gibbons set a new career-high in scoring for the second time this season tying for a team-high 20 points. Brianna Lewis finished with 20 points as well as six assists.
Riley Popplewell and DeNisha Swain each recorded double-doubles. Swain also tied her career-high of six steals.
Jenkins leads the Bulldogs with 11.8 points per game while
Taylor Brown adds a team-high 9.5 rebounds per contest. South Carolina State is under the direction of first-year head coach
Audra Smith.

st when they host Winthrop at 2 p.m. in a non-conference matchup.
