South Carolina State Game Notes Howard Game Notes
WASHINGTON, DC—South Carolina State (2-5 overall, 2-2) MEAC will travel this weekend to take on the Bison of Howard (3-3 overall, 3-1 MEAC) in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) battle at Green Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m. and will broadcast live on ESPN3.

THE GAME: Both teams enter the contest looking to stay in the hunt for the league crown with a win on Saturday. The Bulldogs in the middle of the pack in the conference standings with a 2-2 league record, will have their hands full with a high-powered scoring offense led by sophomore sensation quarterback Caylin Newton. SC State looks to spoil another Homecoming with Howard as well even the score from last season's tough 20-28 defeat at home on Oct. 28
th 2017.

Scott Robinson had a team-high 7 tackles and an interception in the win. Sophomore quarterback
Tyrece Nick led the charge on offense again throwing 8-of-23 for 133-yards and a touchdown, while also leading the team in rushing with 19 carries for 130-yards. Senior punter
Jerome Pettiway led the special teams with nine (9) punts for 319-yards (35.4) with a long of 4 5-yards.

SC State's Buddy Pough (SC State '75) is in his 17th season as head coach at his alma mater and owns a 122-70 overall mark (96-36 MEAC). He is 0-1 against Howard under the London era.
