DURHAM, NC—The South Carolina State women's basketball team look to turn things around Saturday (Feb.11) when they take on host North Carolina Central in the first of a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) doubleheader at McDougald-McLendon Arena. Tipoff is 2p.m

The Lady Bulldogs also will embark on its second three-game league road trip in seven days.  In their last outing, SC State suffered a tough, 51-50, defeat in the closing seconds of the game to Hampton in Orangeburg.

Junior forward Brittany Drumgoole led South Carolina State with a team-high 17 points, while freshman forward Alexis Scott added nine rebounds in the loss.

The Lady Bulldogs are led by graduate guard Bryeasha Blair with 16.9 ppg/2^nd in the MEAC and junior forward Brittany Drumgoole at 11.0 points per outing/14^th in the MEAC. Junior Jahmia Bradley anchors the frontcourt in rebounding with 6.7 per outing while scoring 7.8 points per game. Sophomore forward JaQuanna Murray is playing strong on the defensive side with 2.5 blocks/3^rd in the MEAC, 5.6 rebounds and 5.5 points per game.

NCCU is led by Morgan Jones with 12.2 ppg. Dominique Adams and Deja McCain are averaging a little over 6.4 points per contest. McCain is the leader on the boards with 5.5, followed by Adams with 4.7.

Next up South Carolina State take on MEAC rival North Carolina A&T on Monday (Feb. 13) in a pivotal league showdown in Greensboro, NC, before heading to Virginia to take on the Norfolk State on Wednesday (Feb. 15) with both contest beginning in a 5:30 p.m. start.
