ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State women resume their schedule Saturday at Spartanburg where they will meet USC Upstate in a 2 p.m. contest at the G.B. Hodge Center.
The game will be the first action for Coach Doug Robertson's team since Nov. 28 when the Lady Bulldogs defeated Columbia International 82-38 in Columbia.
The 2-3 SC State team will be led by 5-5 graduate guard
Bryeasha Blair, the only Lady Bulldog in double figures with a 12.0 scoring average. Blair is followed in the scoring column by 5-10 junior Kyesha Lewis (9.2 ppg) and 5-8 junior Kemoni Lewis (8.4 ppg). Jasmine Williams, a 5-11 junior, powers Robertson's team on the boards with 9.2 per game to go with a 7.6 scoring mark.
The Spartans are led by 5-8 junior Tamera Thorpe (10.9 ppg), 5-10 freshman Anda Kuzmina (8.7 ppg) and 5-9 redshirt sophomore Morgan Williams (7.2 ppg, 5 rpg).
USC Upstate last played Dec. 5 when it dropped an 83-63 decision at William and Mary. The Spartans are 2-8 with both wins coming at home.
