THE SERIES: This is the 17th all-time meeting between Furman and South Carolina State with the Paladins holding an 11-5 series lead and 8-3 series advantage in Greenville. The Bulldogs, however, have won the last two meetings at Timmons Arena, including a 69-67 decision on December 16, 2016.
BULLDOG NOTES:
*Last timeout the Bulldogs rolled over Brevard to a 93-65 win Thursday at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
*Graduate guard Donte Wright scored a career-high 31 points in the win.
*Wright is the leads the team in scoring with 14.7 points per game. Sophomore forward Damani Applewhite chips 11.5 points and 6.2 rebounds.
SCOUTING FURMAN:
*Furman, ranked No. 23 in the latest CollegeInsider Mid-Major Top 25 Poll, enters Saturday's contest at 6-3.
*Senior Devin Sibley, who leads the Paladins averaging 14.2 points per game and needs just eight points to reach the 1,500-point plateau for his career, added 16 on Tuesday night.
*Three other Paladins are in double-figures with John Davis and Matt Rafferty tossing in a little over 12.1 per game, while Daniel Fowler adds 11.8 per contest.
