MBB: Bulldogs Resume Play On The Road At Winthrop

ROCK HILL, SC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs return to action on Sunday (Nov. 26th) on the road in a non-conference showdown with intrastate rival Winthrop at the Winthrop Coliseum. Tip off is 7 p.m. (ET)

South Carolina State leads the series 4-1 overall between the two schools. The last time the two teams met the Bulldogs defeated the Eagles 71-58 (Dec. 22, 2001) in Rock Hill.

THE MATCHUP: Both teams look to get back in the win column after coming off tough losses in their last outing. SC State dropped a heartbreaking 64-73 loss to Central Arkansas, while the Eagles suffered an 85-119 defeat to SEC foe Auburn.

SCOUTING WINTHROP:
*The Eagles (2-3) look to extend its streak to 10 or more threes in a game to five straight to tie the school record.
*WU will try for its third straight home win.
*Eagles have made 62 three-pointers in the last four games.
*Anders Broman leads the way in scoring with 7.7 points per outing. Mitch Hill is second with 6.0 ppg, while Kellen Blake, Charles Falden and Nych Smith all are averaging a little over 5.0 points per game.

SCOUTING THE SC STATE
*Graduate guard Donte Wright leads the Bulldogs with 13.0 ppg, while shooting 37% from 3-point range.
*Janai Rayner-Powell is second on the team with 7.2 ppg and leads the team in assists (16)
*The Bulldogs opened the season in Madison, WI, then traveled to Chestnut Hill, MA, New Haven, CT and then out to the west coast in Los Angeles, CA to take on UCLA .
*South Carolina State was picked to finish 7th in the MEAC Preseason Poll, announced by the league.
*Head coach Murray Garvin who is entering his 5th season will be without almost 4,000-points from last year's team with the departure of Ed Stephens, Eric Eaves, Greg Mortimer and leading scorer forward Tashombe Riley who suffered an injury during preseason.
