DOVER, DE—The South Carolina State Bulldogs return to action on Saturday (Oct. 21st ) on the road when they take on host Delaware State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
The Bulldogs (2-4 overall, 1-3 in the MEAC) look to back bounce after suffering a tough 9-12 loss to Bethune-Cookman on last week in Daytona Beach, Fla. All-American redshirt senior linebacker posted ca game-high 15 tackles in the loss.
Delaware State (0-6 overall, 0-4) is seeking their first win of the season after a 23-52 decision to Howard.
Leonard spearheads the defense with a MEAC leading 76 tackles on the season, while redshirt senior linebacker DayShawn Taylor is second on the team with 48 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions.
Redshirt sophomore quarterback Dewann Ford, Jr. leads the air attack throwing 82-of-160-4 for 1,061 yards and four (4) touchdowns, while
Trey Samuel is the leader on the ground 61 carries for 310 yards and five (5) touchdowns.
