DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.---The South Carolina State Bulldogs hit the road in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown Saturday (Oct.13
th) against the Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman at Municipal Stadium. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
The Bulldogs (2-3 overall, 1-2 MEAC) are coming off an impressive 35-14 league victory Morgan State on last Friday (Oct. 6
th) on ESPNU. Redshirt senior running back
Trey Samuel rushed for a game-high 19 carries for 146-yards and three touchdowns to lead the offense.

Darius Leonard provided a stellar performance spearheading the defense with 18 tackles (14 solo), two interceptions and one for a touchdown.
Meanwhile, the Wildcats (2-3 overall, 1-1 MEAC) had a bye week. Their last win came in 24-14 victory over Savannah State on September 30
th. Jamaruz Thompkins led the way on offense with 14 rushes for 126 yards and a touchdown, while redshirt sophomore quarterback Akevious Williams added 10 carries for 95 yards in the win.
Samuel is the top rusher for SC State with 47 carries for 254 yards (50.8 jpg) and four touchdowns, while redshirt sophomore Dewann Ford, Jr. controls the air attack throwing 66-of-128-3 for 893 yards (178.6 ypg) and four touchdowns.
Leonard is the leader on defense with 61 tackles (41 solo), 3.5 TFL, 2 INTS for 51 yards, three (3) pass deflects, and five (5) quarterback hurries. Teammate All-MEAC linebacker
Dayshawn Taylor is second 35 tackles, 2 TFL and 2 INTS.
The Bulldogs return to action Saturday, Oct. 21st, in their second straight road game against Delaware State in Dover, DE. Kickoff is 2 p.m.
