WASHINGTON, DC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs will take on host Howard University in a nationally televised MEAC showdown on ESPNU Monday (Jan.30) at Burr Gymnasium. Tipoff is 7:01 p.m.
The Bulldogs will wrap up its three-game MEAC road swing in seven days against the Bison.
In their last outing, after coming off an impressive 68-66 victory over Hampton on Wednesday (Jan.25), SC State dropped a tough, 92-69, decision to Maryland Eastern Shore on Saturday (Jan.28) at the Hytche Arena. Junior guard James Richardson led the way with a team-high 16 points in the loss.

Tashombe Riley has come on strong for SC State this season with 11.2 points and 4.9 rebounds. Senior guard
Greg Mortimer and junior James Richardson has produced solid scoring over 9.6 points each. Junior guard
Ed Stephens controls the tempo on the floor with 2.2 assist and 7.4 points per contest. Stephens only needs 11 more points to join the elite among 1,000-point scorers in school history.
Meanwhile, Howard (5-16 overall, 2-4 MEAC) will look to bounce back after league losses to Savannah State (70-73) and North Carolina Central (39-74). HU has three players in double-figures with Charles Miller and James Williams each tossing in 14.8 points per contest. Solomon Mangham (10.0 ppg) and Marcel Boyd (5.3 ppg) heads the frontcourt with a little over 6.6 rebounds.
South Carolina State returns home this Saturday (Feb.4) to host Norfolk State in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference showdown at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Tipoff is 2 p.m., with the men following in a 4 p.m. start.
