PRINCESS ANNE, MD—The South Carolina State men's basketball team will play the second of its three-game MEAC road swing Saturday (Jan. 28) against the Hawks of Maryland Eastern Shore at the William P. Hytche Athletic Center in Princess Anne, MD. Tipoff is 4 p.m.
LAST TIMEOUT: South Carolina State grabbed a tough 68-66 road victory over Hampton on Wednesday (Jan.25) at the HU Convocation Center.
Eric Eaves led the Bulldogs with a team-high 18 points in the win.
Meanwhile, Maryland Eastern Shore won its second straight from the sunshine state of Florida. The Hawks defeated Bethune-Cookman (82-79) on last Saturday and Florida A&M (86-79) on Monday. Bakari Copeland led the Hawks in scoring for each game with an average of 24.5 points per outing.
A LOOK AT THE MATCHUP: South Carolina State (6-13, 3-3 MEAC) will look to keep things rolling against a tough and well coached Maryland Eastern Shore squad. The Bulldogs are led by All-MEAC & All-American senior guard

Tashombe Riley has come on strong for SC State this season with 11.2 points and 4.8 rebounds. Senior guard
Greg Mortimer and junior James Richardson has produced solid scoring over 9.5 points each. Junior guard
Ed Stephens controls the tempo on the floor with 2.2 assist and 7.2 points per contest. Stephens only needs 22 more points to join the elite among 1,000-point scorers in school history.
A pair of Hawks scores double-figures for Maryland Eastern Shore (6-14, 3-2 MEAC) with Bakari Copeland leading the way with 16.6 points, 6.1 rebounds per game. Ryan Andino follows with 14.1points, while Logan McIntosh and Dontae Caldwell each chips in a little over 8.1 points.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State close out a three-game road swing Monday (Jan. 30) in Washington, DC when they take on Howard in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader. Tipoff is 4 p.m. for the women, with the men beginning at 7:01 p.m. (EST) in a live televised contest on ESPNU.
