ORANGEBURG, SC---The South Carolina State men's basketball team return to action Wednesday (Nov. 30) when they host the visiting Tigers of Voorhees College in a non-conference matchup at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
South Carolina State (1-5) returns home after participating in the Brooklyn Hoops Holiday Invitational Tournament in a four-game road swing. Meanwhile, Voorhees (4-5) in their last outing dropped a tough 75-83 decision to Erskine College on Nov. 19.
The Bulldogs are led by senior guard
Eric Eaves with 13.8 ppg, while senior
Greg Mortimer, junior's
Tashombe Riley and James "JJ" Richardson adds a little over 9.0 points each per outing. Freshman forward
Ian Kinard is the leader on the boards with 4.2 rebounds per game.
Senior forward Denzel Famble leads the way for the Tigers with 19.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game. Sophomore point guard Keyonis Phillips is the floor general dishing out 1.5 assists.
South Carolina State returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 6 on the road against ACC powerhouse the University of Miami. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
