Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Bryeasha Blair scored a game-high 23 points to lead the South Carolina State women's basketball team to an 85-57 win over Morris College in the home opener for the Lady Bulldogs.
SC State improves to 2-2 on the season with the win, while Morris drops to 2-6.
The game got off to a slow start, but SC State went on an 11-4 run to end the first quarter with a 26-14 lead.
Morris closed the gap in the second quarter to get within four (29-25) at the 7:11 mark. The Lady Bulldogs mounted another double-digit lead later in the period, and a 3-pointer by
Brittany Drumgoole at the buzzer sent SC State into halftime with a 45-28 advantage.
SC State maintained a sizable lead for the remainder of the game and led by as many as 23 points, 75-52, in the fourth quarter.
Ashley Jaggers led Morris with 10 points and Ka'Deja Bridges had six points and six rebounds.
Drumgoole finished with 14 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals for SC State.
Alexis Scott had career-highs of 10 points and 10 boards in her first double-double while wearing the Garnet and Blue.
It was also a career night for three other Lady Bulldogs.
Schekinah Bimpa had career-highs of nine rebounds and four points, while
Chantel Williams set a new personal best with five boards.
Regina Garrett tallied three points and two rebounds, both career-highs for the junior guard.
The Lady Bulldogs are off until Thursday, Dec. 1 when they host St. Andrews at 5:30 p.m.
