Box Score ATHENS, Ga. – Graduate guard Bryeasha Blair scored a game-high 21 points in South Carolina State's 64-50 loss to the University of Georgia on Friday night at Stegeman Coliseum.
 
Blair, who started and played a total of 30 minutes, was 8-of-21 from the floor, including 2-of-7 from 3-point range.
 
Georgia (1-0) started the game on a 6-0 run, but SC State (0-1) settled down and took the lead (14-13) on a 3-pointer by junior guard Brittany Drumgoole with 2:11 left in the first quarter. A pair of free throws by Halle Washington put Georgia up by two, 16-14, to end the first period.
 
Another trey by Drumgoole at the 8:51 mark in the second quarter kept the Lady Bulldogs close (19-17), But Georgia went on a 17-2 run to take a 36-19 lead into halftime.
 
SC State started the third quarter with renewed energy and scored nine unanswered points to cut the lead to just six points, 36-30, but a layup by Mackenzie Engram with 7:11 left in the period gave Georgia a double-digit lead it would maintain for the rest of the contest.
 
Engram had 15 points and seven rebounds, while Pachis Roberts finished with 14 points and 11 boards.
 
Sophomore forward JaQuanna Murray, junior forward Jahmia Bradley and Drumgoole each finished with six points. Murray added four blocks and three steals in 20 minutes.
