ORANGEBURG, SC —The South Carolina State Bulldogs (3-5 overall, 3-2 MEAC) will host the Norfolk State Spartans (2-7 overall, 1-5 MEAC) in their second home game of the season Saturday (Nov. 12) at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium. Kickoff is at 2 p.m.

SC State is 12-2 versus Norfolk State in the Pough era. The Bulldogs defeated the Spartans 17-10 in the last meeting in Norfolk, VA. Norfolk State last defeated SC State in 2011, a 17-14 victory at William "Dick" Price Stadium.

The Bulldogs traveled to Greensboro, NC last weekend and suffered a devastating 30-20 loss to NC A&T, making it their second MEAC loss of the season. SC State is currently fifth in the league, while Norfolk State is ranked ninth (9^th).

Leonard leads the defense and is currently ranked first in the MEAC and among the top three nationally (FCS I-AA) with 93 tackles (56 solo), 7.5 TFL and two (2) interceptions.  Redshirt junior linebacker Dayshawn Taylor is second on the team in tackles with 66 (41 solo), 10 TFL, two (2) forced fumbles, and an interception.

Sophomore quarterback Caleb York controls the offense throwing 95-of-209 for 973 yards and 11 touchdowns in eight (8) games. Redshirt freshman running back Bishop Ford is the leader on the ground with 99 carries for 439 yards and three (3) touchdowns. Freshman wide receiver De'Montrez Burroughs leads the receiving corps with 18 receptions for 288-yards and two (2) touchdowns.
