WASHINGTON, DC—South Carolina State returns to the road in a key Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown with host Howard University Saturday (Oct. 15) at William H. Greene Stadium. Kickoff is 1 p.m.
The Bulldogs (1-3 overall, 1-0 MEAC) will embark on their fifth (5
th) straight road game this season. The home-opener versus Bethune-Cookman originally scheduled for Oct. 8, was postponed to Saturday Nov.26 due to Hurricane Matthew.
SC State is 11-1 against Howard (1-5 overall, 1-2 MEAC) during the Pough era. In the last meeting the Bulldogs defeated the Bison 49-10 in Orangeburg, SC.
Sophomore quarterback
Caleb York leads the offense and ranks among the top in the MEAC throwing 58-126-2 for 563 yards and six (6) touchdowns in four games.
All-MEAC and Preseason Defensive Player of the Year red-shirt junior
Darius Leonard spearheads the defense with 54 tackles (27 solo). He has had two or more games with 15 tackles or more.
