Box Score HAMPTON, Va. – Despite getting a double-double of 11 points and 12 rebounds from
Jasmine Coleman, the SC State women's basketball team fell 63-50 at Hampton on Monday night at the HU Convocation Center.
SC State (8-10, 4-4 MEAC) also got 11 points from
Amber Howard and six rebounds apiece from
Toni Grier and
Jahmia Bradley. Malia Tate-DeFreitas had a double-double of 30 points and 11 rebounds for Hampton (8-12, 6-1MEAC).
The Lady Pirates led 17-8 after the first quarter. Both teams scored 17 points each in the second period and Hampton went into halftime up 34-25.
In the fourth quarter, the Lady Bulldogs got within five points, 55-50, after a pair of free throws by Bradley. But Hampton held SC State scoreless over the last four minutes of the game while scoring eight points to put the game out of reach for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Lady Bulldogs continue their road swing with a trip to Dover, Del. next weekend. They play Delaware State at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
