NORFOLK, VA—The South Carolina State women's basketball (7-9, 3-3 MEAC) team looks to keep to their winning ways when they face the Lady Spartans of Norfolk State (0-16, 0-6 MEAC) Saturday (Jan.23) at Echols Hall. . Tip-off is slated for 4 p.m. The game has been designated Faith, Family and Friends Day at Echols Hall.

All-Time Series vs. SCSU: Norfolk State leads the all-time series with SCSU, 18-17. The Lady Bulldogs won last year's meeting, 79-75, in Orangeburg and have won four of the last five in the series. The teams have not played at Echols Hall since the 2011-12 season.

South Carolina State Lady Bulldogs
The Lady Bulldogs have dropped two of their last three following a 63-56 home setback against Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday night. Ashleigh Outler scored 15 points and Brittany Drumgoole 14 for SCSU. The pair combined to make seven of the Lady Bulldogs' eight 3-pointers on the night. Drumgoole leads the way in scoring with 9.5 points per game. Six other players average at least 5.0 points per contest.

 Norfolk State Lady Spartans
Norfolk State dropped a pair of games in its MEAC North Carolina road trip last weekend, falling 63-62 at North Carolina Central on Saturday and 64-53 to North Carolina A&T on Monday. Against A&T, NSU committed a season-high 28 turnovers, which led to 26 Aggie points. NSU held N.C. A&T to just 39.7 percent shooting and forced 19 turnovers, but the Spartans couldn't overcome their own miscues and 34.5 percent shooting.
 
MEAC Standings
South Carolina State holds down the sixth (6^th) spot in the MEAC standings. Bethune-Cookman is in first-place (1^st), Hampton is second (2^nd), FAMU is third (3^rd), and N.C. A&T State fourth (4^th) and Morgan State rounds out the top five in the 5th spot.
