Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Moengaroa Subritzky scored a game-high 26 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor, including 4-of-5 from 3-point range, to lead the Maryland Eastern Shore women's basketball team to a 63-56 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference win over South Carolina State on Monday night at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Ashleigh Outler (15 points) and
Brittany Drumgoole (14 points) each came off the bench to score in double figures for SC State (7-9, 3-3MEAC). Starters
Jasmine Coleman and JuQuanna Murray each grabbed a game-high five rebounds.
The Lady Bulldogs led 28-24 after the first half, but a 3-pointer by Subritzky at the 7:32 mark in the third quarter to put the Lady Hawks (4-13, 2-3 MEAC) ahead 32-30. SC State rallied to tie the game at 43-all on a basket by
Amber Howard with 8:10 left in the final period, but UMES went on a 20-13 run to seal the win.
SC State hits the road this weekend to play at Norfolk State at 4 p.m. on Saturday and at Hampton at 5 p.m. on Monday.
