Four Bulldog Teams Competing in Florida This Weekend

ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State men's and women's track and field teams, women's tennis team and the softball team will all be competing in the state of Florida this weekend.
 
The track and field teams kick things off first thing Friday morning in Gainesville at the 2015 Florida Relays hosted by the University of Florida. More than 280 college, club and professional teams are entered in this year's event, and over 320 high schools will be represented in the two-day event at James G. Pressly Stadium on UF's campus.
 
At 10 a.m. on Friday, the women's tennis team takes on Bethune-Cookman. They are 6-7 on the season and 2-1 in conference play after defeating Florida A&M 4-3 at home last Saturday. Bethune-Cookman is 15-6 overall and 5-0 in the MEAC. The Lady Wildcats are coming off a 5-1 win over Savannah State on Saturday.
 
The softball team also plays Bethune-Cookman. The three-game series starts with a doubleheader at 1 p.m. on Friday and concludes with a single game on Saturday beginning at noon. SC State is 5-14 on the year and 0-3 in league play after being swept by North Carolina A&T last weekend in a conference series. B-CU is 7-24 so far this season and will open MEAC play against the Lady Bulldogs.
