MEAC TOURNAMENT MEN'S BRACKET
NORFOLK, VA---The No.7 seed South Carolina State Bulldogs will begin their quest to capture (MEAC) Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship Tuesday (March.10) against league rival the 10
th seed Aggies of N.C. A&T at Scope Arena. Tipoff is 8 p.m.
The winner of the game will face No.2 seed Norfolk State on Wednesday (March.11) in the Quarterfinals of the MEAC Tournament in an 8 p.m. showdown.
GAME COVERAGE: All preliminary round games of the 2015 MEAC Tournament will be telecast live on ESPN3.com. The games will also stream live on MEACSports.com. The Championship games will be telecast live beginning with the men's game, Saturday, March 14 at 1 p.m. on ESPN2. The women's game will begin thirty-minutes following the men's game and will air live on ESPN3 and telecast taped-delayed on Sunday, March 15 at 11:30 a.m. on ESPNU.
LAST MEETING: SC State knocked off North Carolina A&T 52-50 (1/12/15) in Greensboro, NC. Sophomore guard
Greg Mortimer led the Bulldogs with a team-high 10 points.
BULLDOG BITE: Freshman guard
Edward Stephens was named MEAC Rookie of the Week six times this season and was named to the MEAC All-Rookie Team. Stephens leads the team in scoring with 12 ppg and 3.0 rebounds.
South Carolina State (10-21 overall, 7-9 MEAC) also tally nearly seven steals per game while forcing almost 13 turnovers. Sophomore guard
Greg Mortimer is second on the team with 8.4, while junior forward
Darryl Palmer is the leader on the board with 7.0 rebounds, 7.7 points and 2.2 blocks per game.
Meanwhile, N.C. A&T (9-22 overall, 6-10 MEAC) is led by senior forward Bruce Beckford with 15.3 points and 7.3 rebounds per outing during the season.
