ORANGEBURG, SC— The South Carolina State men's basketball team return to action before the Thanksgiving break when they host Allen University, in a non-conference matchup Wednesday (Nov. 25) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
The event is FREE and open to the public.
The Bulldogs (2-3) look to turn things around after tough pair of losses in the EKU Hoops Classic on last week. SC State knocked off Longwood University, 83-77, in the opening-round, before falling to host Eastern Kentucky (82-92) and Ball State (60-72).
Senior guard/forward
Gabriel McCray leads the way for the Bulldogs with 16.2 ppg and 5.8 rebounds. Junior guard
Eric Eaves is second with 13.8 points and 2.4 assist, followed by sophomore guard
Ed Stephens with 13 points and 2.4 rebounds per outing.
Junior guard
Greg Mortimer adds 9.4 ppg and 3.4 apg, while All-MEAC forward senior
Darryl Palmer chips in 6.6 points and 4.4 rebounds.
As a team the Bulldogs are shooting .70% (92-of-131) from the free-throw line, while averaging 78.4 points per game.
South Carolina State returns to action on Sunday (Nov.29) when they travel to the Midwest to take on Kansas State in Manhattan, KS. Tip-off is 3 p.m.
