Box Score ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Sophomore guard Brittany Drumgoole had game-highs of 16 points and nine rebounds to lead the South Carolina State women's basketball team to a 90-39 rout of Morris College on Saturday afternoon at the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-0) wasted no time adjusting to the new four-quarter format of the game and took a 22-8 lead after the first 10-minute period. They extended the lead to 40-18 at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs outscored the Lady Hornets (3-3) 50-21 in the final two periods of the game for their first win of the season.
Junior transfer Bria Ratliff also scored in double figures for SC State with 14 points. Sophomores Ashleigh Outler and Jahmia Bradley each tallied 13 points, while freshman center Dashanique Peterson finished with nine points, six rebounds, two blocks and two steals.
Tiara Howard had team-highs of nine points and six rebounds for the Lady Hornets.
The Lady Bulldogs have a quick turnaround as they travel to Greenville, S.C. on Monday to play at Furman University. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
