Game NotesInside the Game: SC State wraps up its three-game home-stand with a 4 p.m. matchup against Delaware State on Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs (11-8, 4-4 MEAC) went 1-1 this past weekend, defeating Norfolk State 79-75 on Saturday and then falling 88-53 on to Hampton on Monday.
Kourtney Williams and
Amber Howard are the top two scorers for SC State. Williams averages 16.1 points per game and Howard drops in 10.6 points per outing.
Jasmine Coleman remains the most productive rebounder on the team with 5.8 per game.
Delaware State (3-15, 1-5 MEAC) is on a four-game losing streak that started two weeks ago with a 65-60 loss to SC State in Dover, Del. Since then, the Lady Hornets have lost to Savannah State (76-45), North Carolina A&&T (79-38) and North Carolina Central (66-59). DSU has three players in double figures. Raven Bankston leads the way with 17.1 points per game, while Tierra Hawkins and Amber Bogard are averaging 16.8 and 11.8 points per game, respectively. Hawkins grabs a team-leading 8.1 boards per contest.

Last Meeting vs. Delaware State (1-17-15):
Kourtney Williams scored a game-high 22 points on 11-of-18 shooting from the field to lead the South Carolina State women's basketball team to a 65-60 win over Delaware State on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Hall.
SC State (9-7, 2-3 MEAC) wasted no time getting started and jumped out to a quick 13-point lead, 15-2, after a 3-pointer by
Amber Howard with 14:14 left in the first half. The Lady Bulldogs led by 14 (28-14) after a tree-point play by
Toni Grier at the 3:29 mark, but Delaware State (3-12, 1-2 MEAC) went on a 10-0 run to cut the lead to four (28-24) right before halftime.
Four of the seven Lady Hornets who played scored in double figures. Aldridge led the charge with 18 points. N'Kayah Kersey finished with 12 points, while Aliah Stinnett and Tierra Hawkins each dropped in 10 points. Hawkins grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds.
Howard was the only other Lady Bulldog in double figures with 11 points. Grier had eight points and a career-high eight rebounds.
Williams Earns Weekly Honor: Senior guard
Kourtney Williams was named College Sports Madness Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Player of the Week honor on Monday for her exceptional performance during the past week's action. Williams scored a career-high 37 points on Saturday to lead SC State to a 79-75 MEAC win over Norfolk State. She was 10-of-17 from the floor for the game and 15-of-17 from the free-throw line. For the season, she is averaging 16.1 points per game in 19 games. Additionally, she is just 26 points away from reaching 1,000 for her career.
Looking Ahead: SC State hits the road to Baltimore, Md. next weekend to take on Coppin State (Feb. 7, 2 p.m.) and Morgan State (Feb. 9, 5:30 p.m.). After those games, the Lady Bulldogs make the short trip to Savannah, Ga. to take on Savannah State on Feb. 14 (4 p.m.).
