ORANGEBURG, S.C. – The South Carolina State men's and women's indoor track and field teams return to action this weekend at the Bob Pollock Invitational hosted by Clemson University. The meet will feature teams from various parts of the Southeast with competition starting at 9:30 a.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
Friday's action features multi-event competitions starting early in the morning, followed by a full slate of running events. Scheduled field events set to be contested Friday are the weight throw, pole vault and long jump. Running action gets underway Saturday at 11:00.
Both Bulldog teams have competed in two meets so far this season with several athletes achieving qualifying marks to participate at the 2015 MEAC Indoor Championships. Among them are freshman
Demek Kemp, who broke a 14-year old school record in the 60-meter dash in his collegiate debut, posting a time of 6.74 seconds at the JDL College Kick-Off Classic and senior Antavia Owens, who ran a 7.67 at the same meet last month.
