Game Notes
Inside the Game: SC State (4-1) posted its fourth win of the season this past Tuesday night with a 59-53 overtime defeat of Wofford College. 
Kourtney Williams led the team in scoring for the fifth straight game with 18 points. On the season, Williams is averaging 17.6 points, 3.8 rebounds and a team-leading 1.0 blocks per game. 
Jasmine Coleman is the team's leading rebounds with 5.8 boards per game.
 
Florida A&M (2-4) is coming off a 69-67 win against Sam Houston State last Saturday. Kenya Dixon had team-highs of 17 points and eight rebounds in that game. Through six games, Taneka Rubin leads all players with 11.7 points per game. Defensively, Khaderja Young is grabbing 6.3 rebounds per game.
 
Last Meeting: SC State fell to Florida A&M (FAMU) by six, 64-70, in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) women's basketball contest in Tallahassee.  With the loss, SC State drops to 5-12 overall and 3-4 in the MEAC while FAMU improves to 9-11 overall and 3-4 in the MEAC. 
 
Mykala Jones scored a team-high 24 points including six three-pointers to lead SC State. 
Cabriel Duren was the only other SC State player to score in double-figures with 10.
 
Dayshaun Richbow contributed nine points with six rebounds and five assist and 
Persephone Goodwin came off the bench to drop in nine points with seven rebounds and five blocks in the contest for the Lady Bulldogs.

Jazzmine Johnson chipped in 16 points to lead the South Carolina State women's basketball team to a 59-53 overtime win over Wofford College on Tuesday night at the Benjamin Johnson Arena.
 
Wofford (1-5) led 48-46 after one of two free throws by Chanel Stokes with 2:03 left in regulation. Johnson drained a 3-pointer at the 1:07 mark to give SC State (4-1) a one-point lead (49-48). The Terriers had a chance to seal the win on free throws by Kentra Washington, but she only made the first of two, forcing the extra period.
 
The Lady Bulldogs made 20 of their 55 shot attempts (36.4 percent), had 14 steals and blocked a season-high-tying four shots. 
Brittany Drumgoole also scored in double-figures with 10 points. 
Persephone Goodwin led all players with three blocks and added two points and three boards.
