CONWAY,SC—The South Carolina State men's basketball team will be on the road Tuesday (Dec.2), as they take on in-state foe Coastal Carolina Tuesday at the HTC Center. Tipoff is 7 p.m.
SC State looks to turn things around and get back on the winning track after a tough, 71-58, defeat to Georgia Southern over the weekend. Sophomore guard
Karon Wright led the Bulldogs with a team-high 17 points in the losing effort.
Meanwhile, CCU suffered a, 67-78, setback to Chattanooga on Thanksgiving Day in the title game of the Battle of Atlantis Mainland tournament. Redshirt sophomore guard Shivaugh Wiggins led the Chants with a career-high 20 points.
CCU leads the overall series 8-6 versus SC State, with the Bulldogs winning the last three contests against the Chants, including a pair of meetings last season. Prior to last season, Coastal had not faced SC State since 2006. The Bulldogs won the 2006 contest 81-80 in overtime, ending CCU's four-game win streak at SC State.

Greg Mortimer adds 10.2. Junior forward
Darryl Palmer is the leader on the boards with 7.2 and 7.0 points.
South Carolina State will return to action on Saturday (Dec. 6) at home against conference rival Florida A&M in a pivotal MEAC Doubleheader at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tipoff for the women begins at 4 p.m., with the men following afterwards.
