TALLAHASSEE, FLA—The South Carolina State Bulldogs (6-3, 4-1 MEAC) will be on the road this weekend when they travel to the sunshine state to take on Florida A&M (2-7, 2-3 MEAC) in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference showdown at Bragg Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is 3 p.m.
SC State and Coach Buddy Pough are coming off huge 59-7 victory over Savannah State, which entered last Saturday's contest under new leadership after the firing of head coach Earl Holmes two weeks ago. The Rattlers dropped a heartbreaking 12-10 defeat to Norfolk State at home.
The Bulldog victory put the league race into a virtual free-for-all as four teams enter today's competition with only one loss in MEAC games. SC State needs a win today to stay in the hunt for the league title and a berth in the FCS playoffs.
The Coaches SC State's Buddy Pough (SC State '75) is in his 13
th season as head coach at his alma mater and owns a 103-46 overall mark.
Corey Fuller (Florida State '96) is 0-1 at the helm after taking over for former head coach Earl Holmes who was fired two weeks ago.

Javon Hargrave has been named to the College Football Performance Awards (CFPA) 2014 CFPA FCS National Defensive Performer of the Year Watch List.
Hargrave (6-2, 300) leads the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) with 15 sacks, 20 TFL, and 45 tackles on the season. The All-MEAC performer broke the school record for sacks in a game (4), and also tied the MEAC and FCS I-AA with his six sack performance in the Bulldogs, 20-14, victory over #14 Bethune-Cookman.

Hamilton (DB, 6-0, 185, r-Jr., Johnson, S.C.) returned a punt 55 yards for a touchdown in the Bulldogs' victory over Savannah State. It was the second straight week that Hamilton has returned a punt for a touchdown in a MEAC game. He finished the game with three punts returns for 76 yards. .
