Bulldogs Host Eagles On YOUTH/ROTC Day At Dawson Stadium

ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State Bulldogs (4-2, 2-0 MEAC) will host the visiting North Carolina Central Eagles (2-3, 1-0) in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference showdown at Oliver.C. Dawson/Willie Jeffries Field Saturday. Kickoff is 2 p.m.

Both SC State and NC Central registered victories in their last outing as the Bulldogs earned a 13-0 shutout over league foe North Carolina A&T in the Atlanta Football Classic last Saturday, while the Eagles prevailed 27-22 over Howard in an MEAC contest at Durham.

Both teams are perfect in league play as the visitors' only conference outing was the victory over the Bison last week, giving them a 1-0 MEAC worksheet. Mean-while, the Bulldogs have MEAC wins over Hampton (17-10) – the 100th win for SC State head coach Buddy Pough -- and NC A&T (13-0) for a 2-0 conference mark.

The Series

The Bulldogs have won 10 of the last 12 meetings, dating back to 1973, however the two teams have split the last two games, with SC State winning 44-3 at Durham last season before an ESPNU national audienice and NCCU taking a 40-10 triumph at Indianapolis in the 2012 Circle City Classic.
