SC State Women's Basketball Opens Four-Game Road Swing in the Sunshine State

Orangeburg, S.C.--The SC State women's basketball team will look to continue their winning streak when they open a four-game road swing this weekend in the sunshine state. The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Daytona Beach, Fla. and Tallahassee, Fla. to take on Bethune-Cookman (BCU) and Florida A&M (FAMU), respectively.  The contest against Bethune-Cookman is set for a 2 p.m. start on Saturday (Feb. 23) while the game with Florida A&M is scheduled for Monday, Feb.25, at 5:30 p.m.

SC State enters the weekend with a 15-7 overall record and 7-4 bill in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). More importantly, the Lady Bulldogs sits just one game in front of both BCU & FAMU in the conference standings, as the both enter the weekend with a 6-5 conference record.  Seniors Tiara Knotts and Ashley Clarke are pacing the Lady Bulldogs averaging 13.3 and 10.7 points, respectively. Clarke is also leading the team in rebounding averaging 6.9 boards per outing.

The Lady Bulldogs will travel to North Carolina next Saturday and Monday, March 2 and 4, to take on North Carolina A&T and North Carolina Central, respectively. SC State will close out its regular season at home on Thursday, March 7 when they host Delaware State.
