SC State Play Host To Morgan State In Final Home Game Of Season

ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs (7-3) will host the visiting Bears of Morgan State (4-6) in the final home game of the season Thursday, at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium. Kick-off is 7:30 p.m. and the game will be televised live on ESPNU.

Coach Pough and the Bulldogs enter tonight's contest having rebounded after a tough loss, 14-3, to Bethune-Cookman (10/26) in Daytona Beach. SC State has won the last two contest posting huge wins over Savannah State (45-9) and FAMU (25-21).

The Bulldogs are tied for first place in the conference after the Spartans knocked off the Wildcats last week, both Bethune-Cookman and SC State are 5-1 in the league race. South Carolina State can clinch a share of the conference crown if the win out with a tough two games remaining over Morgan State and Norfolk State.

Senior redshirt quarterback Richard Cue leads the air attack throwing 125-of-226 for 1,494 yards and 13 TD's. Redshirt freshman transfer Justin Taylor leads the rushing attack with 172 rushes for 580 yards and 6 TD's. Senior wide receiver Tyler McDonald the Bulldogs All-Time Leader in Career Receptions & Yards leads the receiving corps with 40 catches for 751 yards and 6 TD's.

Senior linebacker Joe Thomas spearheads the defense with 98 tackles (72 solo), 15 TFL, 6.5 sacks for the Bulldogs. Thomas was recently added to the Buck Buchanan Award watch list. The award is given to the outstanding defensive player in FCS I-AA football.

South Carolina State will play their final regular season game next week on the road against the Spartans of Norfolk State in Norfolk, VA. Kick-off is 1 p.m.
