SC State Basketball Teams Play Regular Season Finale On Road Against DSU

DOVER, DE—The South Carolina State men's and women's basketball teams will close out their regular season schedule tonight against Delaware State University. Tipoff for the women is 5:30 p.m., with the men begining at 7:30 p.m.
      The Bulldogs (5-24 overall, 0-15 MEAC) will be seeking its first conference win of the season, while DSU (14-13 overall, 11-4 MEAC) who is currently in third place in the conference race will be looking to keep the Bulldogs winless this season in the league.
        Senior Brandon Riley leads the Bulldogs in scoring with Brandon Riley with 17.0 points per outing, while senior forward Omar Sanders and junior point guard Khalif Toombs is averaging a little over 10.6 ppg. Sanders lead the Bulldogs in rebounding with 8.1 per contest.
       On the women's side, the Lady Bulldogs (12-14 overall, 7-8 MEAC)looking to stay in the middle of the pack in the league race is currently in sixth place, while the Lady Hornets (6-22 overall, 3-12 MEAC) plagued by injuries throughout the season will be hoping for a confidence booster with a win over SC State.
          Junior guard Tiara Knotts with 12.9 ppg, while junior Paris Alston is second with 9.2 ppg and 6.1 rpg. Junior forward/center Tiana Hemphill leads the team in rebounding with 8.4 per outing.
          Both teams will return to action on next week in the first round of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference  (MEAC) Men's and Women's Basketball  Championships, beginning Monday March 5-10 at Joel Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
