SC State Women’s Basketball Resume Play at Old Dominion

Lady Bulldogs resume play at Old Dominion Saturday
Norfolk, Va.—After seven days off from competition for the Christmas Holiday, the SC State women's basketball team will travel to Norfolk, Va. Saturday, Dec. 29, to take on the Lady Monarchs of Old Dominion University. Tip-off for the non-conference contest is set for 4 p.m. at the Ted Constant Convocation Center in Norfolk.

SC State enters the contest at 8-3 overall after falling to University of South Carolina in their last contest (Dec. 21).  Senior guard Tiara Knotts continues to lead the way for the Lady Bulldogs averaging 15.1 points per game.  Senior Paris Alston is second in scoring at 9.5 points per outing and leads the team in rebounding at eight boards per contest.

Old Dominion, who enters the game at 8-2 overall, defeated Alabama A&M in their last outing as part of the World Vision Basketball Classic held in Las Vegas, Nev.  Jackie Cook and Shea Kelley are averaging double-figures for the Lady Monarchs at 17.8 and 11.3, respectively.  Kelley is leading the team in rebounding at 7.8 per outing.

The Lady Bulldogs will host Winthrop on Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013 in their final non-conference game of the season.  Tip-off for Tuesday's contest is set for 12 noon in the Smith-Hammond-Memorial Center on the campus of SC State.
