SC State Women’s Basketball Team Head to Athens to Face Georgia

Orangeburg, S.C.--The SC State women's basketball team will travel to Athens, Ga. this Friday, Nov. 16, to face the University of Georgia in a non-conference matchup. 

SC State heads into tomorrow's contest at 1-0 after defeating Claflin, 77-42, in the 2012 season- opener.  Sophomore Kourtney Williams, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the Garden City Classic, led the way with 24 points.  Senior Tiara Knotts added 15 points and senior Paris Alston contributed 12 points with eight rebounds and two blocks in the win.

Georgia comes into the game with a 2-0 record.  In their last outing, the Bulldogs defeated Presbyterian, 66-38.
 
The Lady Bulldogs will travel to Presbyterian (11-20) before breaking for the Thanksgiving holiday.  After the holiday, SC State will have four straight home games including back-to-back contests.  The Lady Bulldogs will host Southern Wesleyan and Jacksonville on Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 27 and 28, respectively, before opening its 2012 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play on Saturday and Monday, Dec. 1 and 3 versus Hampton and Norfolk State.
