Orangeburg, S.C. -- To kick off 2012, a former NFL player will visit SC State University as part of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) Day: IMPACT 2012.
C.L. Shepherd, nationally recognized mentor and motivational speaker, will participate in a Christian rally to encourage young believers and introduce others to Christ at a fun-filled experience with SC State Basketball. This event will take place Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 12 noon. in the MLK Auditorium on the campus of South Carolina State University. Shepherd is a former football player who participated on every level of competition. He earned a bachelor's in sociology and corporate communication from Florida Atlantic University, where he was recently inducted into the Athletics Hall of Fame. After graduating, he played in the NFL for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the DetroitLions.
Shepherd moved to Pittsburgh, PA to accept the role as Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) chaplain and character coach for the University of Pittsburgh and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He now strives to “make plays” off the field by making a difference in the lives of others.
