Orangeburg, SC – South Carolina State is mourning the loss of former standout offensive lineman Orlando “Zeus” Brown who was found dead at his Baltimore home Friday morning
The cause of his death wasn't known, according to police and firefighters who responded to a call from Brown's Baltimore home.
A Washington, DC native, Brown earned All-MEAC and All-America honors as an offensive tackle at SC State in the early nineties after transferring from Central State of Ohio.
He was signed as a free agent by the Cleveland Browns in 1993 and later played for the Baltimore Ravens. The 6-foot-7 offensive tackle played a total of 10 NFL seasons — four with the Cleveland Browns (1993-95 and 1999) and six with the Baltimore Ravens (1996-98 and 2003-05). He started 119 of his 129 games.

“It's a great loss to SC State and HBCUs,” said retired Bulldog head coach Willie Jeffries, who coached Brown. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Brown family.”
