Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's basketball team will travel to Rock Hill, S.C. to take on the Lady Eagles of Winthrop in a non-conference matchup. The game, which will be contested at Winthrop Arena on the campus of Winthrop University, is set for a 6 p.m. tip-off.

SC State will enter the contest with a 3-4 overall record after defeating Norfolk State, 75-69, in their last outing (Dec. 5) to snap a two-game losing streak. To date, Tiara Knotts is averaging 13.3 points per outing to lead the Lady Bulldogs in scoring. Tiana Hemphill is averaging 8.6 boards per contest to lead the team. As a team, SC State is averaging 56.6 points and 37.9 boards per game.

Winthrop comes into the game with a 2-5 overall record. The Lady Eagles dropped its fourth straight contest to Davidson, 65-80, last Thursday (Dec. 1). Winthrop has three players averaging double-figures led by Dequesha McClanahan with 19.4. Diana Choibekova is averaging 17.4 and Samiya Wright is averaging 10.7 points per game. Katie Fitzgerald is leading the team in rebounding at 8.4 boards per outing. The Lady Eagles as a whole is averaging 68.7 points and 42.1 rebounds.

The Lady Bulldogs will travel to the University of South Carolina on Wednesday, Dec. 14 and will close out their six-game road swing next Sunday, Dec. 18 at Coastal Carolina. SC State will host UNC-Asheville on Monday, Dec. 19 at 6 p.m. Due to renovations in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center, the contest with UNC-Asheville will be played at the Jonas T. Kennedy Health and Physical Education Center (Tullis Arena) on the campus of Claflin University (adjacent to SC State).
