SC State Shuts Out Howard 31-0

R-So.-Richard Cue scores two touchdowns in victory.
Box Score WASHINGTON, DC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs (5-4, 4-2 MEAC) got back on the winning track shutting out the Howard, 31-0 Saturday at Greene Memorial Stadium.
       SC State improves to 5-4 overall, 4-2 in the MEAC, while Howard falls to 4-5 overall, 4-3 in the league.
        Despite, the bad weather it was a battle of the defenses with the Bulldogs taking advantage early on in the contest.
       SC State jumped out to a 3-0 early lead on a 22-yard field goal by senior Blake Erickson at the 11:04 mark in the first quarter.  Junior running back Asheton Jordan's 2-yard punch put the Bulldogs ahead 10-0 with 10:22 left in the quarter.  Redshirt junior quarterback Richard Cue then connected with sophomore wide receiver Thomas Williams on a 21-yard touchdown reception to give SC State a 17-0 advantage to close out the first quarter.
      Cue put the Bulldogs on the board once again on a 71-yard touchdown scamper early in the fourth quarter to extend the lead to 24-0.  Cue sealed the victory on a 6-yard run with 3:57 left in the game to give the Bulldogs a 31-0 victory over the Bison.
       Leading the way on offense for the Bulldog was quarterback Richard Cue with 10 carries and 74 yards rushing, along with two touchdowns. Redshirt sophomore Joe Thomas spearheaded the defense with 7.5 tackles (7 solo), while senior Donovan Richard added six in the victory.
       SC State will be Idle next week, before wrapping up their final home game of the season on Nov. 12, will they host the Aggies of N.C. A&T on “Senior Day”.
