SC State On The Road Against Delaware State

DOVER, DE—The two-time defending #17 South Carolina State Bulldogs (5-2, 3-1 MEAC) will travel to Dover, DE this week to take on the scrappy Hornets of Delaware State University(1-6, 1-4 MEAC) in a pivotal MEAC conference contest. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.

Coach Pough's Bulldogs enter the contest after coming off a huge 10-7 victory over Hampton on last Saturday in the battle of the defenses. Meanwhile, Delaware State dropped a tough 34-24 decision over Morgan State.

SC State is 5-3 against Delaware State during Coach Oliver “Buddy” Pough's tenure as head coach. Last time the two teams met the Bulldogs defeated the Hornets 52-10 at Dawson Stadium in Orangeburg, SC. On last week Pough coached his 100th game at the helm of the Bulldog football program.

Senior quarterback Malcolm Long leads the air attack with 102-177 for 948 yards and two touchdowns on the season. The defense is led by linebackers David Erby and Donovan Richard both with 46 tackles and four sacks on the season.

The Bulldogs will return to action on Nov.6, for its final home game of the regular season against Howard University. SC State will also be celebrating “Senior Day” as well as honoring the winingest coach in school history in Willie Jeffries Day. Kickoff is at 1:30 p.m.
