ORANGEBURG, SC—The #10 ranked South Carolina State Bulldogs will face their toughest test on the season Saturday when the visiting Wildcats of Bethune-Cookman ranked #23 come into Oliver C. Dawson.
SC State will be celebrating SCSUnity and Greek Day and asking all die hard Bulldog fans and alumni to come out and support the two time defending MEAC Champions in their quest for a third title.
Coach Pough and the Bulldogs (4-1, 2-0) will put their 21-game MEAC winning streak on the line against undefeated Bethune-Cookman (5-0, 3-0) and first-year head coach Brian Jenkins. # 10 SC State enters the contest with the top-ranked defense in FCS, while the Wildcats have the top-ranked offense averaging almost 49.9 points per game.
Last timeout SC State defeated the Spartans 34-13 on ROTC/YOUTH day, while Bethune-Cookman won easily over Delaware State 47-24.
Coach Pough's team will host the “Bulldog Walk” where you can come out and meet and greet the 2009 SBN Black National Champions two hours prior to kick-off while entering Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
SC State will host the visiting Pirates of Hampton Pirates on “Homecoming” next week in a 1:30 p.m. kick-off. The game will be televised live on ESPNU with a tape delay.
