Lady Bulldogs Suffer Third-Straight Conference Loss Against Morgan St.

ORANGEBURG, SC—Junior transfer Joi Walker recorded an double-double ofwith 17 points and 10 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Morgan State held on to defeat SC State 82-75 in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play Saturday at Smith-Hammond-Middleton.

Morgan State's All-MEAC senior guard Corin Adams led all scorers with 32 points. Adams shot 11-19 from the field and 4-7 from three-point range, while sophomore Dekisha Mathis chipped in 11 points and 10 rebounds in the victory.

Morgan State jumped out to its biggest lead of the half 10, 22-12 on a 3-pointer by Adams at the 12:54 mark. The Lady Bulldogs rallied within three, 40-43 off a jumper by Joi Walker with 2:24 left in the half.

Morgan State closed the first-half with a 44-48 lead over the Lady Bulldogs. Adams finished the firs-half with 23 points.

A Kristina Rosario layup gave the Lady Bears a 15 point advantage, 55-70 with 9:04 left in the game. SC State cut the lead to four, off a Whitney Wiley jumper with 1:13 left. An Adams layup with 0:02 left sealed the victory for Morgan State.

South Carolina State falls to 5-10 overall, 0-3 in the MEAC, while Morgan State improves to 6-9 overall, 3-1 in the conference.

The Lady Bulldogs will return to action on Monday when they host Coppin State in a MEAC doubleheader. The women's begin in a 2 p.m.tip-off, while the men follow at 4 p.m.
