Orangeburg, SC – The SC State women's basketball team will open their home Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) schedule Saturday when they host the Lady Bears of Morgan State University. Tip-off for Saturday's contest is set for 4 p.m. in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center on the campus of SC State.
SC State will enter Saturday's contest with a 5-9 overall record and 0-2 in the conference. Senior
Sophilia Hipps currently leads the team in the scoring averaging 15.8 points per outing. The Lady Bulldogs has two players scoring in double-figures as sophomore
Whitney Wiley is dropping in 12 points per contest. Freshman
Paris Alston is averaging 8.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per outing.
The Morgan State Lady Bears bring a 5-9 overall and 2-1 conference record into today's game. Senior Corin Adams, the MEAC Pre-Season Player-of-the-Year, leads the Lady Bears in scoring at 18 points per outing.
The Lady Bulldogs will remain home when they host Coppin State on Monday, Jan. 18 at 2 p.m.
