CLEMSON,SC—South Carolina (6-3) returns to action from the holiday break Tuesday when the Bulldogs face ACC power  #24 Clemson in a 7:30 p.m. showdown at Littlejohn Coliseum.

Coach Tim Carter's Bulldogs are coming off a 69-82 loss to University of Iowa. The defeat was the third on the season for SC State.

SC State, which playing the four of seven straight road contests, will need huge effort against the Tigers, who defeated Western Carolina 79-57 Dec. 12 to extend their winning streak to five-straight victories. Forward Trevor Booker tossed in a season-high 31 points in the victory.

Senior guard/forward Jason Flagler is the Bulldogs' top scorer with 13.0 points per game and also leads the team in rebounds with 5.3 per outing. Junior Darnell Porter, a JUCO transfer, is right behind Flagler in scoring with a 12.3 average. They are the only SC State players in double figures.

Clemson is paced by Booker with 15.0 each outing and 9.0 rebounds per contest. Tanner Smith is second in scoring for The Tigers with a 10.9 scoring average.

Following the Clemson contest, SC State will return to action after the New Year on Jan 2. against College of Charleston.
