GREENVILLE, SC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs will have their senior captain back in the lineup today as they take on the Paladins of Furman University in a 7:00 p.m. showdown.
Coach Tim Carter entering his third season at the helm for the Bulldogs (5-2) will be facing a tough and balanced Furman Paladin (5-3) team tonight. The Bulldogs are led in scoring by junior transfer guard Darnell Porter with 12.0 points and freshman guard Khalif Toombs with 8.6 on the season.
Senior All-MEAC guard/forward Jason Flagler didn't make the trip due to graduation ceremonies Flagler is averaging 11.8 points per game and grabbing 5.8 boards per contest.
In the last outing SC State suffered a tough 91-54 loss to the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL. The Bulldogs was without All-MEAC performer senior Jason Flagler who missed the game due to graduation ceremonies. Meanwhile, Furman dropped a tough 82-53 decision to Clemson University on last week.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Monday when they travel Iowa City, IA to battle the Iowa Hawkeyes.
