MIAMI, FL—The South Carolina State men's basketball team begin the first of a seven game road trip when they travel to Miami, FL to take on the University of Miami of the ACC in a non-conference match-up Saturday. Tip-off begins at 7:30 p.m.

         Coach Tim Carter entering his third season at the helm for the Bulldogs (5-1) will be looking for its second road win of the season against the Miami Hurricanes (8-1). The Bulldogs are led in scoring by junior transfer guard Darnell Porter with 13.5 points and freshman guard Khalif Toombs with 9.3 on the season.

        Senior All-MEAC guard/forward Jason Flagler didn't make the trip due to graduation ceremonies Flagler is averaging 11.8 points per game and grabbing 5.8 boards per contest.

       The last time the two teams met was November 23, 2004 when SC State defeated Miami 60-50 under head coach Ben Betts.

     The Bulldogs will return to action on next Friday when they travel to Greenville, SC to face Furman University.
