Senior sprinter Demek Kemp of South Carolina State was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Men's Track Performers of the Week, the conference announced. Kemp, who earned the honor for the second time this season, continued his record-setting season in the 60-meters, establishing a meet record and new school mark with a time of 6.63 at the Buccaneer Track & Field Invitational (Feb. 203) in Johnson City, Tenn.
The Monroe, GA native's time ranks second-best in the MEAC and seventh nationally. Kemp captured his first MEAC track honor Jan. 20 with a school record-tying run of 6.65 at the Keydet Invitational at Lexington, VA
