ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State Bulldogs conducted its first practice in full gear in a three-hour workout session Monday (Aug. 7^th) at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.

"Today was one of those days where you get a chance to see where some guys can help you out in certain positions, "said head coach Buddy Pough. "Although we are only in our fifth practice we still have a long way to go moving forward."

"We have a lot of talent on this team and guys that can really be special for years to come," said Pough. "But this is not about individuals I feel as soon as we get these guys to move forward as a team we can have a really good group of players. "

Pough noted, "Even though its early in the process that the team is really responding well as a unit, but when you get a lot of new guys competing for a starting spot you are going to have some type excitement in the air."

The Bulldogs return to the field Tuesday (Aug.8) morning in a 9:10 workout session in full gear, and Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in afternoon practice.

SC State will hold its Media/Picture Day on Saturday, Aug. 12, beginning at 9 a.m. The annual "Meet the Players Day," hosted by The S.T.A.T.E Club, is set for Saturday, Aug. 19^that 12 p.m. More details on these events will be released later.
