2017 Bulldog Preseason Practice Schedule
ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State University football team begin preparation for the 2017 season Tuesday (Aug.1), when Bulldog head coach Buddy Pough, and his staff welcome over 95 players to preseason camp.
 
The players report to campus on Tuesday, with the first official practice scheduled for August 2nd at 9:10 a.m. and the first full gear practice on August 6^th.
 
SC State has scheduled 29 practices prior to the team's first game, including two scrimmages at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
 
 The team conducts practices in helmets on August 2nd and 3rd and in shells on August 4th and 5th, before putting on full gear.
 
The first day of classes for all South Carolina State students is August 16th.
 
The Bulldogs have scrimmages August 12th , beginning at 3:10 p.m. and 19^th at 10 a.m.

SC State will hold its Media/Picture Day on Saturday, Aug. 12, beginning at 9 a.m. The annual "Meet the Players Day," hosted by The S.T.A.T.E Club, is set for Saturday, Aug. 19^th at 12 p.m. More details on these events will be released later.

Pough who is entering his 16^th season at the helm, needs just 12 more wins to become the All-Time Winningest coach in school history.
 
South Carolina State opens the 2017 campaign on the road in the annual MEAC/SWAC Challenge versus Southern University in Baton Rouge, LA. Kickoff is 1:30 p.m. (CT)/2:30 p.m. (ET) and will be televised live on ESPN2.
