SC STATE FOOTBALL STAFF CONDUCTS YOUTH CAMP

ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State football staff conducted the 2015 Buddy Pough Youth Football Camp Saturday (June 13) at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.

Thirty-one youths between the ages of 6-12 years old from the Carolinas and Georgia attended the camp, which put the attendees through flex and agility drills, fundamentals, and position-specific drills. The camp concluded with and a punt, pass and kick competition.

The campers, who enjoyed pizza, popsicles and drinks following the session, also got some encouraging words from two former SC State offensive linemen, both of Augusta, Ga. and who are in now in education.

Kamar Lee, an Augusta, Ga. native who coached for 15 years after his SC State career, and is now principal at Estill High School in Hampton, SC, and Raleigh Roundtree, a former Bulldog All-American who spent 10 years in the National Football League and is now a teacher head football coach at Josey High School in Augusta, shared their experiences with the campers, while also giving them some advice for the future.

Bulldog Head Coach Buddy Pough also spoke to the campers.
