NORFOLK, Va.,--– South Carolina State's Tyler McDonald was selected as the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's (MEAC) Offensive Player of the Week, while teammates Justin Taylor was named Rookie of the Week and Nick Belcher earned Special Teams Player of the Week accolades, respectively the conference announced Monday.
Jarkevis Fields, of Bethune-Cookman was named Defensive Player of the Week and Bethune-Cookman's Alex Monroe was selected as the Offensive Lineman of the Week.
McDonald (WR, 6-1, 190, Sr., Summerville, SC) caught four passes for 108 yards with one touchdown in the Bulldogs season opener against #25 Coastal Carolina. McDonald recorded a catch of 74 yards while averaging 27 yards per catch.
Taylor (RB, 5-10, 215, Fr., Atlanta, Ga.) had 24 carries for 80 yards with one touchdown against #25 Coastal Carolina.
Belcher (P/K, 5-9, 170, Sr., Sumter, SC) had five punts with an average of 46.0 yards against #25 Coastal Carolina. He booted a 61-yard punt and landed three inside the 20-yard line.

Michael Ducre (FAMU) led the Rattler defense with seven tackles, including one solo, and one tackle for a loss in a victory over Mississippi Valley State in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge.
Tazmon Foster (NCCU) amassed a game-high 13 tackles, five solo, with one for a loss of two yards against Duke.
Justin Hughes (SCSU) tallied 9.5 tackles, one for a loss, against #25 Coastal Carolina.
Lenworth Lennon (FAMU) recorded a game-high 85 yards receiving on four catches with a long of 30 yards.
Jordan Miles (NCCU) recorded seven tackles, two solo, against Duke.
Jordan Murphy (B-CU) caught three passes for 35 yards and one touchdown in the Wildcats' 12-9 victory over Tennessee State.
Chase Varnadore (FAMU) finished 2-for-3 in field goals with kicks of 27 and 23 yards against Mississippi Valley State.
