Spring Practice Brief

Bulldogs hold 11th spring workout session

***Spring Football Flash***
ORANGEBURG, SC—During the   11th of 15 scheduled spring workout sessions held Sunday evening, South Carolina State continued to conduct team-style drills on offense and defense during a lively and very intense practice, according to head coach Buddy Pough.
“We have had one our better days of practice with the offense,” said Pough. “All three quarterbacks seem to be adjusting well, but just like any other practice we still got some work to do.”
“Also, we had a few players to get banged up during the scrimmage,” he continued. “But that, too, is a part of working hard. I am pretty excited how are guys are adjusting with some young players stepping up feeling the void.”
Pough added, with less than a week of practices left including the Annual Garnet & Blue Spring Game we still need to work on some fundemental style things better and be able to run the football a little better.
SC State, which has just four spring workout dates left -- including the Saturday's Spring Garnet & Blue game --, will play a 12-game schedule in 2013. The Bulldogs open the campaign Aug. 31 when Pough's team hosts Coastal Carolina.
